PictureSjPictures, Pictures – these are the first instruments in trying to Concretise ideas, Pictures and the mother tounge’ (Sister Nivedita)

In India the way of imparting education through audio visual instruments was first thought of in 1948. In 1952 a national board was set up for audio visual education. At the very outset sound projector, film scripts, slide projector etc. were used in mobile cinema van in this project. Baranagore Ramakrishna Mission introduced die Audio Visual Department for mass education in 1958. There are 12 patriotic and devotional films in the department now in the vernacular. In rural areas the Ashrama arranges for mass education through these devices at a very low cost.
