The great philanthropist Monk christened the organization established by himself according to the name of his own preceptor. On 1st May in 1897 Vivekananda formally set up India’s 2nd organization run by monks, Ramakrishna Mission, at the place of Balaram Basu in Bagbazar, Kolkata. So, Ramakrishna Mission saw its centenary in 1997. At this auspicious moment Baranagore Ramakrishna Mission gave birth to Ramakrishna Mission Centenary Primary School – an institution of difference. Revered Maharaj Swami Lokeswaranandaji inaugurated the school on 11 May, 1998 on the day of Buddha Purnima and the school started its journey towards an illuminated future.
In this morning school of the Ashrama students can get educated from lsr to 4th standard through Bengali medium. The school is being run without any Government aid and in accordance with the ideal of man making education of Swamiji. Now, this is one of the most renowned institutions of North Kolkata.
