‘This is the gist of all worship – to be pure and to do good to others. He who sees Siva in the poor, in the weak, and in the diseased, really worships Siva; and if he sees Siva only in the image, his worship is but preliminary.’ – Swami Vivekananda
Ramakrishna Mission was set up with the objective of emancipating the ignorant, poor and destitute from the misery of life. Ramakrishna Mission started its charitable work at Mahula village in Murshidabad district in West Bengal and the Sargachhi Mission is still carrying on with this tradition. One of the important items on the Agenda of Baranagore Ramakrishna Mission is rendering service to the destitute. Charitable dispensary is an inseparable part of this project. From the very beginning of the Ashrama there was a charitable Homoeopathic dispensary run everyday in the morning and afternoon. The Allopathic department started its journey in 1990 with the help of the Association of the former students of the Ashama.
